The 2026 Cortland parade theme is 'America's Journey - Celebrating 250 Years'

The 46th Annual Cortland Parade theme will be

'America's Journey - Celebrating 250 Years'.

Floats will be judged on general appearance, originality, complexity, and how well they fit the theme. 

Float prizes will be: 

1. Best overall: 1st, 2nd,  3rd

2. Best use of theme: 1st, 2nd, 3rd

3. Most Creative: 1st, 2nd, 3rd

4. Best Decorated Golf Cart: 1st Place Only

1st place prizes $100

2nd place prizes $75

3rd place prizes $50

We DO allow candy to be handed out during the parade—but NO STICK lollipops/suckers please!

Pace yourself when handing out candy. Oftentimes many floats run out before the end of the parade.

As per tradition, the Cortland Lions Club will be serving a free hot dog lunch to all parade participants while supplies last at the Lion’s Den, 70 S Llanos St., until 4 pm.
