The 45th Annual Cortland Parade theme will be “Farmers on Parade” and a celebration of agriculture.
Floats will be judged on general appearance, originality, complexity, and how well they fit the theme.
Float prizes will be: 1st place $100.00, 2nd place $75.00, 3rd place $50.00, and 4th place $25.00.
We DO allow candy to be handed out during the parade—but NO STICK lollipops/suckers please! Pace yourself when handing out candy as often several floats run out before the end of the parade.
As per tradition, the Cortland Lions Club will be serving a free hot dog lunch for parade participants and festival attendees while supplies last at the Lions Den, 70 S Llanos St from 1 - 4 pm. Donations to the Cortland Lions Club are appreciated.
A music in the park event will happen after the parade from 1 to 4 p.m. that is open to the public featuring Cora Vasseur an indie pop singer and songwriter www.therealcoravasseur.com which is sponsored by Cortland Mayor Mark Pietrowski.
Please contact Mark Pietrowski with questions at markpietrowski@gmail.com or 815-762-2054.
